Great show!!!! Tony Cerullo MVP!!!
So, this would be a great show for someone to check out what the Jauntee kind of is all about, and for seasoned fans to get a view at an exciting development, in my opinion, with regards to the playing of keyboardist Tony Cerullo.
A couple things I've noticed during this show. He's using a few different organ patches (See "Puppy In My Pocket" during the composition) and his piano is brighter and more up-front in the mix.
Additionally, his PLAYING is more... I don't want to say forceful, but maybe authoritative is the word? He's contributing lots of ideas, and playing confidently. He's driving the jams in different directions.
Its really cool to hear his piano during the "Enjoy The Ride" jam, a segment usually dominated by his clav or organ patches.
I don't know what it is about this show, but the man is as dominant as Caton's guitar, and that is a wonderful, beautiful thing.
Highlights here include the manic and wild version of "Have You Ever" which creates a really awesome groove pocket during the peak of the jam. Really great playing from everyone.
"Enjoy The Ride" morphs into some signature Jauntee driving space-groove atmospheres, but the presence of Tony's piano during the jam really gives things a fresh atmosphere. Lots of cool spaces in here.
"Puppy In My Pocket" is especially hot. Tony is all over the place during the song, supplying great contribution. During the jam, he actually leads with his piano, and chooses some tasteful Rhodes and organ patches at really opportune times to drive the energy upwards.
